Our physical body is the only vehicle we have to experience life, and instantaneous mobility and responsiveness to our physical surroundings, is a prerequisite of living life fully. Nature has a universal law for health which all organisms abide by: Being the lightest and strongest your body can be. Because by being as light in weight as you can be and being at your optimal level of strength you are most apt to respond to the challenges of your surroundings. THAT is health. We all should seek our optimal level of strength, aerobic endurance, balance and flexibility. These are the four pillars of human health; they form the universal tetrahedron of unity common to many things (See attached photo). The tetrahedron is the simplest universal primal cell and building block of life. The word, "health", is derived from an old English word, "Hale", which means wholeness, being whole, or being sound." Furthermore, we should spend a good portion of every day, every week, engaged in very physically demanding activities which challenges us aerobically, challenges our balance, strength and flexibility! And we all should be examples of this! Indolence and a sedentary lifestyle has made obesity the number one killer of human beings in America! Obesity is a disease and it should be approached like any other disease--we must find personal ways to cure it! Life is precious, and living your life with a compromised physique, is to demean life itself! If each of us receives a minimum of 8 hours of sleep every night then we spend 16 waking hours per day or 112 hours a week of waking activity. One-seventh of those waking hours ought to be spent in very challenging aerobic, strength inducing, balance and flexibility challenging activity. Nature works in geometries and progressions of seven. That means 16 hours a week or 2 hours and 20 minutes a day should be spent on extremely vigorous physical activity. This brings clarity to the mind, vigor to the spirit, and creates an inner fortitude that is immutable.
